1. Challenges - new year and new challenges. We are going into the year of the horse. This is a combination of prompts from ArtistryInkChallenge, Birbfest, 12DaysOfRicky, DrawAndTell & Wetcanvas WDE.

5. King Eider - this is a throwback to 2010 when I painted birds found in Sweden on ATC size cards in watercolour using only primary colours for a trade at Wetcanvas. It fits with todays bird in Birbfest.
6. Northern emerald toucanet - is todays bird in Birbfest. This is a quick watercolour on 19x19 cm hot pressed paper and afterwards I added; ink, copic markers and Pentel Mattehop pencils, I need to experiment more with this.
7. Steller's sea eagle - is todays bird in Birbfest. This is another watercolour on 19x19 cm hot pressed paper. With this I used salt in the background and some Arrtx acrylic markers in black and white. Loosly based on the reference I found here

8. Andean Cock-of-the-rock - this funny looking bird made me try something that I haven't tried since I was a child and painted with my stepfather's art supplies - OILS!!!!! I decided to try the Artisan water mixable oils that I bought maybe18 months ago, I used a 20x20 cm canvas that was covered in an acrylic basecoat. I loved the possibility to fiddle around with the paint for so much longer than acrylics and make smoth transitions when I wanted to. Now let's se if I love the time it will take to dry (6-12 months), if it will stay the same and if I will have to varnish it....
9. Feed ME! - just a fun little scribble in Procreate to celebrate Friday
15. Short eared owl - continuing to pratice with oils (Artisan W&N) on a 20x20 canvas, both for Birbfest and The TuesdayCollective. Reference found here.
18. Hay manetenance - this is a painting I started last spring but finished now. It is the spring horse and she is very high mane-tenance. Acrylic; 35x70 cm
