I just had to try abstract when Rose posted this project. I'm not really sure I succeeded, I'm calling these surrealistic cartoons. But it was fun to do.

This is how I did these. I poured three shades of watercolors on a big sheet of Fabriano hotpressed paper. The colors I chose were; Quinacridone Gold (love that color), Quinacridone Magenta and French Ultramarine. I knew that the Quinacridones would make interesting edges. Then I drew ATC sized boxes. Within each box I used an ink pen to draw in the shapes that I found plus I added some patterns. The process is very similar to the plastic wrap technique.
