Cheri

Comment Finished date 2010-02-07
This painting was a gift for my father. I tried all fall to paint it using watercolor, but finally gave up and finished this acrylic within a day.

Cheri was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that my father had 20 years ago. She was the gentlest of dogs. When she was a puppy and left her mother, the breeder sent a pink fake-fur blanket with her.

Type of paint Acrylic (Winsor & Newton, Daler-Rowney, Liquitex)
Canvas Metalimos Cotton Panel (masonitpannå)
Size 33 x 41 cm (F6)

Cheri carried that blanket with her always. This was her normal resting pose, blanket between her front paws and her hind legs stretched out behind her.

Close-up of the face.
